Maybe someday is 100% unique and utterly original. Colleen Hoover’s writing has this quality to it that draws you into her stories and makes you really care about her characters. While reading Maybe Someday I never found checking the time or counting down the pages until I got to the last.
Hoover’s strong point is definitely her characters. I never found myself hating or being annoyed with anyone in this book. In the end, I loved these characters immensely, no matter how big of a part they had in this novel.
Ridge- Ridge is now one of my favorite male characters. He has such a multi dimensional personality. The thing I loved the most about him is that he didn’t let his disability let him get in the way of him living his life. He made do, and that’s extremely admirable about him.
Sydney- I honestly don’t have much to say about Sydney. She’s kind and has a really good head on her shoulders.
Warren- I REALLY love Warren as a character. He’s hilarious and a great friends to his roommates. I also LOVED Warren and Sydney’s relationship. He always had her back and their banter always had me laughing out loud.
Bridgette- It took me about halfway throughout the book until I started to like Bridgette. I don’t really have much to say about her, but I still loved her nevertheless.
The male characters definitely stood out for me in this book.
Another thing I also really enjoyed about this book is the romance. I don’t normally fall for romance stories but Ridge and Sydney are just CUTE. I loved the slow build of their connection and relationship. I could absolutely feel the love through the pages while reading.
I also really loved how this book shed light on the deaf community. Colleen Hoover wrote Ridge as a intelligent, talented and loving person and he is absolutely one of my favorite characters of Hoover’s.
This book is also told in a dual point of view format. I usually don’t like books like this because I often find myself confused as to whose narrative I’m reading. But in Maybe Someday, Colleen Hoover gives her characters such unique voices that I never found myself confused.
I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this book. I would recommend it to everyone and if you haven’t picked it up yet, this is an experience that everyone needs to witness.
